Apex Legends Leak Suggests Ash Will Be the Next Legend to Get an Heirloom

An Apex Legends leak seems to suggest that Ash may be getting his heirloom weapon in Season 16, and players are guessing what that will be.

One Apex Legends leak seems to suggest that Ash may be getting his heirloom weapon next. Heirlooms are mythic-level cosmetic items in the game that change the appearance of melee weapons in Legends. The last Apex Legends character to obtain an inheritance was Seer, who now wields a pair of curved scythes called Showstoppers.

Since then Apex Legends released in 2019, released one inheritance per season, with Wraith being the first in season 1. Apex Legends game director Chad Grenier during a 2021 Reddit AMA, the heritage release schedule was “largely based on what the team is excited to do next”. There are a total of 15 inheritances so far, and with Apex Legends Recently entering its 16th season, players can see the next one coming soon.

While there is still no official news on which legend will receive an inheritance, a leak of Apex Legends content creator KralRindo suggested that Ash might be getting hers. In the update sheet he tweeted, it indicated that Ash would receive a new melee animation, which usually implied that a legend would receive an inheritance. However, there is still no word on what kind of melee weapon Ash will receive and when it will be released.

Many Ash mains seem to be excited about the heritage, with some joking that it will be melee combat. Some are wondering what it would look like, especially since Ash already has a Ronin blade in his arsenal. Other players didn’t seem thrilled about Legend getting an inheritance ahead of older characters like Horizon and Fuse.

Before Ash was officially added to the Apex Legends roster in Season 11, many assumed his heritage would be his Ronin blade. Later, it was revealed that the blade would be part of his utilities, as she used it to open a one-way portal (Phase Breach) during matches. Recently, YouTuber WaterGotHim saw “Death Sword” written in Apex Legends‘, which seemed to point to Ash’s heritage. He also surmised that the sword would look like a katana seen being held by one of Ash’s rats in the “Protect Your Queen” tag.

Like always, Apex Legends players will have to wait patiently for Respawn Entertainment to announce the next heirloom update. What will be exciting is a possible new Ash cinematic that would not only reveal the heirloom weapon, but also delve a little deeper into its lore.

Apex Legends is now available on mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
