- Paul Rudd told Insider that he will watch the Super Bowl in support of the Kansas City Chiefs.
- Rudd said he may have to review Rihanna’s performance later because he’ll be stressed out about the game.
- “Rihanna is amazing and I think she’s going to be great at halftime, but I won’t be able to focus.”
Paul Rudd thinks he won’t be able to concentrate during Rihanna’s Super Bowl halftime performance because he’ll be so stressed out about the Philadelphia Eagles-Kansas City Chiefs game.
“I’ll be watching for sure, and Rihanna is amazing and I think she’s going to be great at halftime, but I won’t be able to focus on the halftime show because I’ll be so nervous about what’s going to happen in the second half,” Rudd, who is promoting her collaboration with Heineken 0.0 and the brand’s 2023 Super Bowl announcement, he told Insider on Wednesday.
The “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” star attended schools in Kansas growing up and is a defender of the Chiefs.
He and his son, Jack, were also present at Super Bowl 2020 when Patrick Mahomes led the team to victory against the San Francisco 49ers.

Rudd said he and his son will be at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, for Super Bowl LVII this Sunday.
While many people are tuning in for Rihanna’s long-awaited performance and return to music, Rudd said he may have to rewatch the halftime show later to fully absorb it.
“I hope I’m in a good mood,” said the actor. “I’m such a Chiefs fan that you don’t want to be around me during a game. I walk and scream and it’s a sad display of obsession. So I’m going to do that with my son and we’re both essentially doing the same thing.”
“I’ll probably have to watch Rihanna after the game is over and come back so I can really pay attention to what’s going on,” he added.

Rudd’s involvement in this year’s Super Bowl goes beyond being a spectator.
He will also dress up as Ant-Man for a Heineken 0.0 commercial, which will be shown during the game. Rudd said he is a fan of the brand’s non-alcoholic beer and liked the concept of the ad.
“I tried it and it’s amazing,” he said of Heineken 0.0. “I mean, you’d never know there’s no alcohol in it. And so as a beer fan and as a Heineken fan, it’s nice that you can enjoy it and not have to drink alcohol if you don’t want any.”
Combining Ant-Man and Heineken for the Super Bowl also provided a new way to portray the Marvel superhero, with new gags that are in keeping with the “Ant-Man” movies.
“I thought it was smart and fun to shoot as well, because it really was a bit like shooting the movie,” said Rudd.
