A Pokémon Scarlet and Violet fan showed off a wonderful display of art, sharing his clay sculpture of a large glowing tusk. The Paradox Pokémon is one of 16 introduced in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet and is a past form of Donphan, the Armor Pokémon.
Introduced in pokemon gold and silver, Donphan is the evolved form of Phanpy, the long-nosed Pokémon. Representing the elephant family, Donphan’s long, thick nose covers the center of his face and resembles a car tire, which Donphan uses to curl up and use the Rollout move. Its paradoxical form is meant to show Donphan as a mammoth, which has drawn close comparison to Mamoswine, a fourth-generation Pokémon.
Reddit user Prof-Fluffy shared his latest work with the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet subreddit, featuring a clay sculpture of Great Tusk in its glowing form. Shiny Great Tusk has a different color palette compared to its non-shiny form, swapping its blue-gray body for a shade of green and replacing the red tones for green on its torso and legs. Along with the changes, Great Tusk’s torso itself goes from a dark purple-blue to a more muted brown. Luckily for players, finding and capturing Great Tusk isn’t nearly as difficult as its intimidating presence, as it can easily be found in Area Zero once the final boss has been defeated. Unfortunately, Great Tusk – along with all other past-form Paradox Pokémon – can only be found in scarlet pokemon.

The Reddit post is reaching 1,000 upvotes in just 24 hours, with comments flooding in to praise the artist’s design. “It looks amazing and on the model too,” said one user, applauding the attention to detail on the sculpture’s size scale. “Do Scream Tail next,” urged another, hoping the Great Tusk design will be one of many to come in the future. Some users have moved beyond the limitations of pencil and paper and are using different methods to bring Pokémon to life, such as clay, knitting, and even pipe cleaners.
Paradoxically, Pokémon in particular have become a hot trend, as the endless amount of possibilities to bring a new take on one of hundreds of Pokémon is appealing to creators. Like Mega Evolutions and Dynamaxing, creating new Pokémon Paradox is growing in popularity on Reddit and continues to demonstrate just how creative and unique many artists can be, with some even offering knowledge and full movesets to give their creations an extra layer of originality. .
