Super Bowl 2023: The best themed recipes and foods as the Chiefs battle the Eagles for the NFL Championship

The Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles are expected to start Super Bowl LVII this weekend, but they’re far from the only ones who need to prepare ahead of the big game. Those of us watching from home also have a lot to prepare for. What are we going to wear to the game, and the most important question, what are we going to eat?

The Super Bowls are about the game, of course, but they’re also an important day for serving some of the best game day food and snacks. If you don’t know what to serve on Sunday, don’t worry, I’ll take care of you. I love a theme, so for starters, here are some football themed foods that look perfect.

If you want something easy but cute and a fan favorite, try some chocolate covered strawberries with a football twist. All you have to do is melt the chocolate as you would normal chocolate covered strawberries and get some white chocolate or frosting to make the “loops” on the soccer ball.

Following the chocolate theme, you can also make a similar snack with chocolate and pretzels. Melt the chocolate, dip the pretzel in the chocolate and get white chocolate or icing to make the bows. You can also add different colored sprinkles based on the team you are rooting for.

To give your brownies a little football look, bake brownies (and there’s no shame in the game of boxed brownies) and add white icing or white chocolate to make the bows. You can also add bows to the cupcakes to make them more NFL-themed.

Food based on location

With the Eagles and Chiefs in the Super Bowl, it’s only fitting to have some classic Philly and Kansas City snacks to add to the mix.

Philadelphia’s choice is obvious; you have to think of Philly Cheese Steak when you think of the city. There are tons of recipes out there, and while it’s hard to achieve the status of one as good as the one found on the streets of Philly, we sure can give it a try.
