by The trailer for The Last of Us Episode 7 is here – and fans are already stocking up on tissues for the next installment of the HBO show. The next chapter, aptly titled ‘Left Behind’, is set to adapt DLC attached to the first PlayStation game, and as such will give us a glimpse into Ellie’s life before she met Joel.
The teaser, which you can watch above, begins with Ellie (Bella Ramsey) at FEDRA’s training camp as another girl mocks her through voiceover. “You don’t fight, your friend fights. She’s not here anymore,” she says sarcastically before Ellie punches the bully.
“You follow the rules, you become an officer,” the young man is reminded by a FEDRA superior later in the clip, which then introduces Storm Reid’s Riley, Ellie’s best friend turned love interest. After breaking into her old dorm in the dead of night, Riley convinces Ellie to come with her to the abandoned QZ mall, where she promises to show her “the four wonders of the mall”.
“Are you a firefly?!” Ellie exclaims upon learning that Riley has been camping and making explosives in the dilapidated building. But her friend’s “betrayal” turns out to be the least of her worries when an angry clicker sets eyes on them…
“Get ready to run,” Riley mutters as he pulls out a gun.
We won’t get into spoilers here, but those of you who played Left Behind know that we’re in for some big moments in Episode 7. If you haven’t checked out the games yet, you still know that Ellie got bitten at the mall, thanks to her telling Tess in Episode 2, so we can wait and see how this all plays out at least.
