WWE Raw Results, Recap, Notes: Sami Zayn asks Kevin Owens to join him in his match against The Bloodline

After Saturday night’s Elimination Chamber event, WWE used Monday night’s Raw to shift focus to the promotion’s next pay-per-view, the iconic WrestleMania. Sami Zayn, fresh off his loss to Roman Reigns, was also looking to take the next step, turning to an old friend for help.

Zayn proposed to Kevin Owens that the former best friends join forces and defeat Reigns and The Bloodline. While Owens’ response may not have been what Zayn wanted, the situation proves that one loss isn’t enough to stop Zayn from continuing his crusade to end The Bloodline’s grip on WWE.

CBS Sports has you all night with recaps and highlights of all the action from the Canadian Tire Center in Ottawa.

Sami Zayn pleads with Kevin Owens to help him take down The Bloodline

Sami Zayn opened the show by addressing his loss to Roman Reigns at Elimination Chamber. Zayn insisted the story wasn’t over before saying there was someone he needed to talk to, calling Kevin Owens out to the ring. Zayn appealed to his former friend to help him take down The Bloodline, which Owens refused, telling Zayn that he was fine fighting The Bloodline alone and that if Zayn needed help he should call his “friend Jey”.

Sami Zayn defeated. Baron Corbin by pinfall after a Helluva Kick. Corbin attacked Zayn after the opening promo, putting Zayn out before telling the crowd that he was right when he predicted Zayn would be destroyed by Reigns in front of his family and friends. An excited Zayn stormed into the ring for an impromptu match, which he managed to win with relative ease.

Zayn’s story obviously didn’t end when he lost to Reigns, despite the outrage of a certain portion of WWE fans. Zayn has a lot more to do to defeat The Bloodline, even as Reigns moves on to his match with Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania. Owens and Zayn will obviously reunite at some point before WrestleMania and it’s going to be a big time. For now though, it’s all about the tease and making sure WWE keeps Zayn as hot as possible.
